Leere Räume

 4 Performances on 14 July 2012 starting at 7:30pm

@ Gängeviertel Hamburg

LEERE RÄUME (Empty Spaces) was created in collaboration with the choreographer Anastasia Schwarzkopf and the violinist Ruth Brüns. An empty flat in Hamburg's Gängeviertel district becomes a place of reflection on the life once lived there. The three performers move from one room to another, but never meet. They sense each other like ghostly appearances, react to what they hear and feel through the walls.

LEERE RÄUME (Empty Spaces) was realised on the occasion of the dance festival TANZ IN DEN GÄNGEN (Gänge translates to narrow aisles/lanes), a week-long festival featuring numerous workshops and performances at various locations in the Gängeviertel.

The Gängeviertel at Valentinskamp is a complex of 12 buildings with largely original 19th-century architecture. This building complex is surrounded by new buildings and office structures. Find out more about the Gängeviertel at das-gaengeviertel.info.
